Lewis Hamilton, Ms Dynamite and John Conteh all star in this exhibition of inspiration photographs by John Ferguson. The exhibition celebrates the contribution Black people have made to British culture over the last few decades and includes teachers, farmers and firefighters alongside household names.

Film Series
A selection of short films will be shown in the Treasure House Theatre including, Equiano A Son of Africa telling the story of Olaudah Equiano who rose from slavery to become one of the most prominent figures in the 18 century movement to abolish slavery and Only Human which looks at different races living in the UK today, asking the question if there is only one race - the human race.

Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah:Ruby’s Walk
Inspired by the true story of Ruby Bridges
1960 Ruby Bridges was one of the first African-American children to go to an all white school in New Orleans. Facing vicious protests and threats as she was escorted by four armed marshals. Aged six, Ruby was left alone as white parents withdrew their children from the school.
Ruby’s Walk is an interactive performance/workshop for young people and adults. Experienced actors will involve you in exploring Ruby’s story, the racial segregation of 1960s America and its relevance to modern day Leeds. Soul Food: Family and community in African-American Cinema Evening Course, T
Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing was one of the first Black films to gain critical acclaim and mainstream audience attention for a 'serious' attempt to represent African/American culture. But Lee's often controversial approach is not the only source of filmic reflections on African-American culture. This class will explore Lee's work alongside that of very different black filmmakers.
